This 3-week programme combines vocational training with hands-on practical learning on Greater Anglia’s network. Training will be provided by us, Central Training Academy, and will help you build the skills that employers seek.
You’ll get real hands-on experience working alongside Greater Anglia’s customer service teams at busy stations. From day one, you’ll be shadowing experienced staff, learning practical frontline skills and seeing what it’s like to work in the rail industry.
Alongside your placement, you’ll also take part in classroom-based training delivered by Central Training Academy. This includes sessions to build your confidence, communication skills, time management, and awareness of topics like unconscious bias, prejudice, and managing challenging situations.
You’ll also gain insight into how the railway operates behind the scenes, including customer service, engineering, and train service delivery, giving you a full picture of career paths in rail.
By the end of the programme, you’ll have valuable experience to boost your CV, the confidence to take the next step, and the skills to apply for entry-level roles in rail or other industries.
