All about industry placements

OpsDeptManager7 - industry placement

Help improve young people’s future careers by getting involved with the Governments latest job incentive scheme.

What are Industry Placements?

Industry placements give learners an opportunity to develop their practical and technical skills in a role directly relevant to their vocational classroom course.

They also give employers the chance to ensure that young people are developing the skills and experience that industry needs.

Industry placements will form part of the classroom course which will give young people a technical alternative to A levels.

We are looking for employers across all sectors to work with Central Training to offer industry placements now.

The benefits of industry placements

Benefits for your business of having an industry placement student include:

  • developing existing staff’s mentoring and management skills

  • improving the recruitment pipeline for your business

  • giving opportunities to young people from a wide range of backgrounds, leading to a more diverse workforce

  • bringing in new and imaginative ideas

  • building partnerships with local training providers

Ever Considered Hiring a Trainee or Apprentice?

Do you have a long list of goals you want to achieve, while setting your team up for the future? Hiring an apprentice will set you on the right path.

An Apprentice can help your business in a number of ways. As well as adding resource for some of your functions, apprenticeships can set the tone for the learning and development in your organisation.

Apprentices increase productivity in a business by £214 a week on average (according to the CEBR).

That’s over £11,000 a year.
