How do T Levels Benefit Employers?

How do T Levels Benefit Employers

If you are on this page, you’re probably asking the question “How do T Levels benefit employers?”. Well, you’ve come to the right place!

T Levels offer a game-changing opportunity for industry professionals to shape new recruits from the ground up. T-Levels have been quietly revolutionising post-GCSE education since 2020, and here’s why NOW is the best time for employers to bring T Level students into your industry.

If your business hasn’t tapped into T Level potential yet, here’s the low down:

What are T Levels?

T Levels aren’t just any other qualification. They were developed by employers and education providers as the technical equivalent to A Levels but tailored specifically to industry needs.

Over their two-year course, students learn from specialists both in the classroom and in a minimum 45-day industry placement. By choosing T Levels as an option, students are prioritising the needs of their chosen industry through a blend technical study and hands-on experience.

By no means the soft option, T Levels are the equivalent to 3 A Levels and require the same level of focus and dedication. For employers, they offer the unique opportunity to shape employees of the future and provide young people with a fuller understanding of their chosen field.

Which Industries are Covered by a T Level Course?

With a diverse range of 20 T Level courses from September 2024, and more on the way, there’s a T Level course for almost every field.

As you would expect, T Level options are trade-focused or practical in their nature. So, from construction to engineering, science to administration, finance to the environment, agriculture to marketing, and so many more, T Levels are going to up-skill the future workforce to benefit employers like you.

How Do T Levels Benefit Employers?

An industry placement is central to T Level success, so strong partnerships between course providers and employers is essential.

Partnering with schools and colleges to support T levels offers employers many unique opportunities:

Influence your Industry’s Future

If your business can see an industry gap or recruitment issue, partnering with a T Level provider can help shape your field’s future by plugging that knowledge or skill gap ASAP.

Your business can work with the class-based technical providers to tackle industry skill shortages through careful course planning. Plus, your work placement can be tailored to areas in your industry that you think current employees lack so that future employees are empowered.

Scope out Future Talent before Recruitment.

Offering workplace learning to T Level students means you get an insight into potential talent before the students complete their course.

T Levels give employers an unprecedented opportunity to attract a new generation of recruits, test out their skills and abilities by offering a supportive and challenging placement and expand your talent pipeline.

How Does My Business Get On Board?

Businesses don’t need to be ‘T Level ready’ to get in touch with potential partner schools or colleges. You may need some time to work out how your business will best fit with different providers.

Once you’ve found a suitable partner, you can work with them to interview and assess the right candidates for the roles you offer.

After this, you’ll work with your T Level partner to plan the placement so that everyone knows their roles and responsibilities to work towards mutually beneficial outcomes.

And don’t forget, T Levels offer a great opportunity to attract young talent to your workplace and shape your industry’s workforce of the future.
