Central Training Group and its Subcontractors are dedicated to providing remote learning for Lockdown. We will continue to provide a range of learning activities delivered remotely by Live Teams, Zoom, Edmodo and other learning platform sessions to every learner during the on-going Covid situation and lockdown to allow learners to progress.
Remote Learning for Lockdown
Vocational Learning
- Qualification theory for all subjects delivered via Zoom and a range of learning platforms.
- Online zoom practical demonstrations delivered via Zoom and MHD sessions
- Activities and assignments are posted on the learning platform weekly to be researched and completed.
- Daily online demonstrations by Edward Hemmings available for all learners across CTG to access.
- Care and equipment packages are sent to learners to ensure that they have the resources at home to enable them to complete practical training.
- Learners to complete practical workshops by submitting photographs of the work that has been completed on blocks or members of their household.
- Recap sessions and revision activities on vocational theory take place throughout lockdown.
- Feedback is provided to all learners via one-to-one tutorials, the learning platform and review and target setting sessions.
- Vocationally related support calls to support independent learning.
English, Maths, Support, FBV & Mentoring
- English sessions delivered to learners weekly via zoom.
- Maths sessions delivered to learners weekly via zoom.
- Additional one-to-one support English and maths via zoom, WhatsApp Video calls and telephone.
- All learners receive weekly well-being calls.
- All learners have access to a learner mentor for support and guidance.
- Safeguarding updates and activities.
- Fundamental British Value sessions and assignments.
- Personal development, safeguarding, and well-being advice and guidance is provided weekly via thought provoking activities.
- Employability support.
- Use of online learning resources to support delivery of maths and English sessions.
Stretch, Challenge and Enrichment Activities
- Cross department/vocational subjects such as make-up, beauty and hair to be delivered to learners.
- Research assignments set to learners to prepare them for progressing to the next level.
- Hairstyling competitions with prizes set for all learners.
- Learners receive additional learning sessions/resources on topics in higher level qualifications to prepare for progression.
