Greater Anglia recognises the importance of attracting and nurturing young talent through various Early Career Schemes.
Greater Anglia is inviting young adults to take their first steps into the rail industry with a dedicated placement opportunity designed to equip individuals with the skills and experience employers seek.
This programme is aimed at those aged 18-25 who have limited or no work experience and are uncertain about their next career steps.
The three-week scheme combines vocational training with hands-on practical learning on the company’s network. Greater Anglia aims to provide participants with the knowledge and confidence needed to apply for entry-level opportunities at Greater Anglia.
The placement is designed to assist individuals who are not currently in employment, training, or education, helping them develop skills for future job opportunities. Participants will split their time between the head office in Stratford and Greater Anglia’s key stations. During this time, they will apply what they have learned by shadowing experienced frontline and customer service staff.
Specific mentoring sessions will help candidates enhance their knowledge, skills, and behaviors, with many becoming more confident in applying for paid employment.
Similar schemes have been running for seven years, seeking ambitious individuals with a can-do attitude who demonstrate professionalism and friendliness. The programme is conducted in partnership with Central Training Group and provides participants with valuable work experience to add to their CV, along with a certificate of completion and a letter of reference for future job applications.
This unwaged scheme will also provide candidates with complimentary travel on all Greater Anglia lines while they are participating. Applications can be submitted via the Central Training Group.
Aged 16 to 25 and not currently in education or training
