Learners at Beauty Skills Academy, part of Central Training Group, joined hair learners in using the lockdown period to push creative boundaries with the “Lockdown Look” Competition.
The Lockdown Look Competition
With the Southend based Academy forced to close its doors during lockdown, tutors responded to the fabulous outpouring of creativity from learners by launching a special instagram competition.
Beauty Skills Academy lockdown look was a simple idea which successfully inspired learners of all levels. They simply uploaded a picture to instagram of some nail work or a make up look that they created at home during lockdown to be in with a chance of winning.
The simplicity of the competition, alongside the chance to get creative, really appealed and lots of learners uploaded entries using the hashtag #bsalockdownlook. As lockdown lifted and learners were able to return to the centre before the summer break, tutors got their heads together and selected two winners – one for nail work and one for a make-up look.
Lockdown Look Winners
Make Up
The winner in the make up category was Louise Matys who created an amazing and colourful make up mask echoing the realities of lockdown and the effects of a global pandemic.
Nail Work
The stunning simplicity of a set of perfectly executed silver nails won Tia Petherbridge the prize for best nail work.
Both learners win £50 worth of vouchers to be spent on beauty tools and equipment at Ultimate Hair and Beauty in Southend.
