Barbering Course Level 2 is more than a qualification – it’s a launchpad for your career. You’ll build technical skills in men’s hairdressing, develop professionalism, and gain the confidence to step straight into employment or progress to higher-level study.

  • Life Skills – gain an Open University–certified qualification in Money Management for Young Adults, equipping you with essential financial skills.

One year – full time, 2 days a week plus work experience

Skills Learned:
  • Industry Awareness – gain insight into the structure and opportunities within barbering related industries. 
  • Health & Safety Awareness – develop essential knowledge to create a safe and professional salon environment. 
  • Client Consultation – learn how to communicate effectively and meet client needs. 
  • Shampoo & Conditioning Techniques – develop the essential foundations of hair care 
  • Promoting Products & Services – develop confidence in advising clients on products and services. 
  • Cutting Men’s Hair – practice the fundamentals of cutting, gain confidence in delivering stylish men’s haircuts. 
  • Styling Men’s Hair – learn to create fashionable and versatile looks 
  • Cutting Facial Hair – learn techniques for shaping, trimming, and styling facial hair 
  • Colouring & Lightening – explore basic colouring and lightening methods suitable for male clients. 
  • Creative Image Design – produce themed looks inspired by the barbering industry. 
  • Scalp Massage – develop practical skills in delivering relaxing scalp treatments 
  • Reception Duties – build communication skills while managing client bookings
