Central Training Academy has teamed up with FC Clacton to launch an exciting new Sports Training Programme, where young people in Clacton-on-Sea can learn all about football coaching whilst gaining real qualifications and experience! It kicks off this October 2025, and there is still time to sign up!

This exciting course is your chance to train at a real football club, learn the ins and outs of football coaching, and work towards recognised qualifications that set you up for a future in sport.

Whether you are looking for a  post-16 football course, a vocational route into sport or a way to keep active while earning qualifications, this is your chance to train where real football happens.

What is the sports training programme All About?

This is a free sports training programme for young people aged 16-19 (or up to 24 with an EHCP) who are passionate about football and want to work in sport or coaching.

Every week, you’ll:

• Spend 2 days at Central Training Academy Clacton learning about sports, coaching, and fitness

• Spend 1 day at FC Clacton, gaining real coaching experience in a working football club

You’ll train where the action happens, learn from qualified staff, and build the skills needed for a career in sport.

What You’ll Get

This brand-new course delivered by us, Central Training Academy, is perfect for 16–19-year-olds (or up to 24 with an EHCP) who love football and want to take it further.

You’ll get:

• Weekly hands-on football coaching sessions

• Real coaching experience with FC Clacton staff

• Recognised qualifications in Sport

• Support with English and Maths, if needed

• The chance to build a career in sport or fitness

• Access support for travel, kit, and lunch bursaries (if eligible)

And the best bit? You’ll be based at FC Clacton’s stadium one day a week, training where the action happens.

Who’s It For?

• You live in or near Clacton-on-Sea (those living in Colchester, Harwich, Frinton and other nearby places are also welcome)

• You’re aged 16–19 (or up to 24 with an EHCP)

• You love football and want to build a future in sport or football coaching

• You’re not currently in school, college or employment

This course is free for eligible learners and includes kit, travel and lunch support where needed.

Is this football coaching course free?
Yes, it’s fully funded for eligible 16-19s or up to 24 with an EHCP. There are also bursaries available to help with the cost of college-related kit, travel and lunch. 

Where is the course held?
2 days a week are at Central Training Academy Clacton and 1 day at FC Clacton in Clacton-on-Sea.

Do I need to be good at football?
No. You just need to be interested in sport and keen to learn.

When does the course start? Our first intake will start in October 2025, but there will be other opportunities to join, so please do get in touch.
